A 70.75"-wide Patio Series BBQ island that gives a small patio a real grill, tile countertop and storage for $4,429, with free shipping. It's the lowest-priced island in the Cal Flame collection, built for smaller patios and intimate entertaining areas.

Why Choose the Kona Q 601

  • The smallest footprint and lowest starting price: 70.75"W x 38"H, so it fits where larger islands won't.
  • A complete island: a 3-burner G3 grill, a 12" x 24" porcelain tile countertop and an 18" vertical stainless steel access door come standard.
  • You choose the look: 13 tile colors (including Story Brown, Charcoal, Basalt and Drift) and 4 stucco base colors (Birch, Cloud, Mocha and Quake) are included.
  • Room to grow: upgrade the grill to a 4-burner G4, 4-burner P4 or 4-burner convection grill, and add outdoor electrical.

Who It's For and How It Compares

  • Best for: first outdoor kitchens, smaller patios and anyone who wants a finished island at the lowest entry price.
  • vs. the Maui Q 401: the Maui adds a bar counter beside the grill.
  • vs. the Kauai Q 402: the Kauai is wider (76.5") with extra counter space beside the grill.
  • vs. the Escape Series: Escape islands start with a 4-burner grill and offer more sizes, including 7- and 8-foot models.

Why the price works: $4,429 gets you a finished island with a grill, countertop, base and access door, plus free shipping, instead of sourcing and building each piece yourself.

The Brand

About Cal Flame

Cal Flame has spent more than 44 years designing and manufacturing outdoor kitchen equipment from Pomona, California, growing into an award-winning name in built-in grills, islands, and backyard cooking systems. Every grill blends heavy-gauge stainless steel construction with performance features developed and tested in-house, backed by ETL and CE safety certifications.
  • Signature V-Shaped Grates

Cal Flame's exclusive V-patterned grates channel grease away from the flame and leave the deep sear marks the brand is known for.

  • 304 & 430 Stainless Steel Construction

Grill bodies and burners are built from marine-grade stainless steel, with heavier-gauge two-layer walls on select series for lasting durability.

  • Cast Stainless Burners, Independently Ignited

Each burner lights and adjusts on its own switch, so you can run just what you need instead of firing the whole cooktop.
